  1. A movement in literature, art, music, and fashion featuring futuristic themes which incorporate elements of Black history and African culture.

  2. Afro-futurism goes far beyond the simple inclusion of black faces in futuristic themes. Justice, mistrust of authority, cultural drift, searching for Identity, ancestral egress, and pride are all themes addressed by Afro-futurism. The term works towards a future that includes ALL people regardless of race.
